This series is done through layering and processing many samples of drum sounds i synthesised using various plugins namely xoxo's vst's and zynaddsubfx mixed with some old hardware samples i made a long time ago. There are 4 packs of the same series : perc snare kick and hats all using the same process.

This comes from a drum synth function on an old mysterious electric organ. It also features the analog reverb enabled. I recorded this straight from the speaker 24bit with a sony pcm-d50.

I switched on and off an old tape recorder. You can hear hum noise like an early synthesizer. The reason why it makes such noise is not sure, but that's the most important part of analog devices. Computer software cannot do that.

Decided to call this sound "electronic modular rhythm" since i found only one other spot on the net with that combination of words. Probably is there some sort of mistake to write like that, but now we are two to make that mistake. This is straight out of the modular. No processing but amplification. Low pitch static which reminds me of 1950s sci-fi television. Created by filtering a static wave from an analog radio then slowing the pitch and adding a mechanization effect.

Here's a heap of snapshot samples of the synare 3, a vintage analog drum synth circa 1980. They were recorded through an avalon u5 and mackie mixer, and are completely dry. Theres percussion and alot of synth type sounds.

Using an analog "buttset" or test-set telephone, clipping the leads from an exfomaxtester device and hearing the tones from testing a line, at a terminal/crossbox location (roadside). Cut some low frequencies and added 2s, 5s, then 3s digital-delay effects automated and a reverb effect.

A sputtery drum beat. The bass is from freesound, the snare is from a small chop of my fist hitting an oil drum, and the small breath that acts as percussion is from a children's toy. The hi-hats are from vinyl crackles and mistakes in other recordings, made to sound like the crackles themselves are making the music. 88 beats per minute. Modular blips.

The engine to the hysterical "melody" is formed by a two lfos and a looping envelope performing an ever changing dance of random or maybe chaos. Zooming in and study waveforms in this sound is interesting. The sound is unedited, straight from the analog modular synth. Quantization of the pitch - nope. . .
